Janaki Medical College is one of the private sector initiative in the field of medicine, situated at Janakpurdham, Nepal. This is an institution to provide undergraduate medical training program (MBBS) for 100 students intake per year. The national health policy Nepal encourages private sector to establish health institutions for extending the service to the public. This institution is open for both National and international students.Ram Janaki Health Foundation Pvt. Ltd. is the organization which runs Janaki Medical College. Members of the foundation are devoted people in social services.

Admission Procedure of  Janaki Medical College:

To be eligible for admission, the client should be 17 years of age on 31 July of the current year and an education of 10+2 years or intermediate of science or equivalent with English, biology, physics and chemistry as main subjects and have secured not less than 50% mark and aggregate of 50% over all. Or completed BSC degree with one of the following subjects especially physics, chemistry and biology, students must have a minimum 50% marks in earlier qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) with the subjects physics, chemistry, biology & English.

Janaki Medical College is affiliated to the Tribhuwan University and The Nepal Medical Council.
Selection Procedure:  is based on the Interview for foreign students and an Entrance examination and interview will be there for Nepalese students.

Facilities In College includes a Hostel for boys and another for girls.JMC has made provisions of comfortable hostels. For students to have more time for their studies and for greater interaction with other students, hospital patients and teachers, Janaki Medical College encourages all students to live in student hostel.Janaki Medical College has its own set of rules and regulation for those staying in hostels.

InternshipIn the Janaki Medical College :

Mandatory one-year period of satisfactory  internship training from the appropriate authorities of the concerned institutes are necessary for the award of Degree.Janaki Medical College has a central library and a lot of National and international medical journals belonging to various disciplines in health sciences are available as needed.

Duration of Course in  Janaki Medical College :

Four & half years and one year compulsory internship after passing the final examination. There are  three phases in the Total MBBS Course namely the first phase, second phase and third phase.The First phase is of two year duration and teaching is organized in  subjects of  Community medicine and integrated basic medical science. Second year concist of Integrated basic medical science which includes Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry Pthology, Pharmacology and remaining portions of microbiology.

Second phase is of one year and teaching includes Forensic medicine, Applied epidemiology, Family Health, Internal medicine, Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics and pediatrics.And the third phase is of one and half year duration and includes teaching of Eye, ENT, Orthopedic, Dentistry, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Anesthesiology, Accident and Emergency Medicine.
