Lumbini Medical College, the teaching hospital and research center private limited is a major private sector medical college in Nepal. The LMC is situated in Tansen, the western hilly region of Nepal. The hospital started its full function in the year 2003 with bed strength of 100 and this largest private project was undertaken by regional Nepalese entrepreneurs.

Recently the Lumbini Medical College, the teaching hospital and research center is upgraded to a 300 bedded hospital from its beginning strength of 100, with expansion of various services and facilities like CT scan, Fluoroscopy, Laparoscopy and minimal invasive surgery, Ureterorenoscopy (URS) and ICPL, highly equipped operation theaters, sub – specialty services etc.

MBBS Program
The MBBS program offered is a regular 5 and a half year long, inclusive of mandatory internship after the regular 4 and a half years of study. The Lumbini Medical College, the teaching hospital and research center provides access to the real practical access for the students in the clinical training period.

The total fee for the MBBS program for those students admitted at LMC during the Academic Year 2010-2011 is as follows

Single installment: NRs. 2600000.00 (twenty six lakhs only) shall be paid one time at the time of admission.
2. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Non-Resident Nepalese students residing in India and the Indian students have to pay Indian Rs. 19,00,000(Nineteen hundred thousand). SAARC Students (from Afganisthan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan and SriLanka Only) have to pay US dollar similar to that of amount of 19,00,000 Indian rupees. All other country candidates have to pay US dollar 43,000 (Forty Three Thousand). All these fee can be remitted on a single installment at the time of admission.
Hostel Facility at Lumbini Medical College:
There is separate hostel facility available for men and women with enormous hot and cold water supply. No student should stay away from his/her room during the night except with the written permission of the warden. Any student, who wishes to leave the campus temporally or otherwise, should obtain the permission of warden in writing. Those applying for permission must state the date and time of his/ her intended departure and return as well as the destination.
